Dr. James Barry has extensive experience leading the development and commercialization of disruptive medical technologies and leading small medtech companies successfully through turbulent internal and external environments.

Dr. Barry is the founder of Convergent Biomedical Group, a provider of advisory services for the medical device industry, life science companies, investors, and universities. Prior to founding Convergent, Dr. Barry served as president and chief executive officer of InspireMD, a medical technology company focused on solving the problem of embolization in high-risk vascular procedures. Previously, Dr. Barry was the president and chief executive officer of Arsenal Medical, a platform technology company developing novel polymer-based foams and fibers. Dr. Barry also held a variety of senior positions at Boston Scientific, including senior vice president of corporate technology development. Under Dr. Barry’s leadership, the TAXUS™ drug-eluting coronary stent was developed and became the most successful medical device ever launched, attaining annual sales of $3 billion.
